#simplytravels: Guide to Dubai

Dubai is a fabulous destination for a vacation all year round. With beautiful skylines, Persian shorelines and larger than life attractions you really will be living the high life. Check out our tips and recommendations in this travel guide to Dubai.

Spend a night having dinner in the sky

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, measuring at 828m high! You can book to wine and dine here while taking in 360 views of Dubai. We’d recommend booking dinner over afternoon tea here as the views are even more breath-taking at night and you can watch the dancing fountains below. Book here.

Drinks & chills by the pool

Dubai reaches over 40 degrees in the summer so unless you’re a sunbathing warrior you’ll find it hard to with stand the heat all day. Dubai is full of beach clubs you can visit and for ladies, get in at a discounted price! Zero gravity is one of the most famous beach clubs, where celebs from around the world visit every year (Justin Bieber visited earlier this summer!) The resort has an infinity pool overlooking the beach and skylines. If you do brunch here, your ticket includes unlimited food and drinks for the whole day, so relax poolside with vodka slush and unforgettable views.

We’re gonna get together and we’re all gonna go…SHOPPING

Not only does Dubai accommodate the tallest building in the world but it also has the biggest mall in the world, with over 1,000 stores it’s every shopper’s paradise. Everything you could possibly need can be found here but if this is too much to handle and you’re unsure where to start then there’s only one solution… food! The mall has various restaurants as well as the food court; we’d recommend The Cheesecake Factory. The mall even has an aquarium running through it so use this as the perfect shopping break. Alternatively you can have a taste of the Kardashian life and walk down Fashion Avenue where you can have a coffee outside Dior and Chanel.

A night of dancing and cocktails

For a night out we’d recommend going to Lucky Voice Dubai. Here you can warm up your vocals for the night ahead by booking a karaoke pod for you and your girls (don’t worry the pod is sound proof so no one else can hear you). Belt out your favorite song from Taylor Swift, to Frozen to High School Musical – they have all the classics. You can stay for cocktails after you’ve finished your performance as the lucky voice also has a live DJ for you to dance the night away.

A day of luxury

One of the most iconic places to visit in Dubai is of course The Atlantis, The Palm. Don’t worry if you’re not staying here – you can visit Nasimi Beach, one of the main beaches at the front of it. Take full advantage of the cabanas and sun loungers at this ultimate chill-out place. If you think the beach is too hot, you can also set up camp by the pool. The best bit of all is that girls get in FREE! There is also a ladies’ deal everyday where you can get lush snacks with a bottle of wine or a pitcher of margarita, so kick back and completely zone out at this beautiful location.

Tip: Please consider the culture of Dubai before visiting as their laws are stricter than ours in the west! If visiting a public place like the mall be sure to cover your shoulders and knees. You don’t have to do this at beaches, clubs or bars.
