We sat down with Instagram beauty Beth Woodhead to get the low down on what life is like as an Instagram Influencer and here is what she had to say…
How did you start out as an Instagram Influencer?
Back in 2014 I entered a modelling competition and after receiving the news that I had made the final 5 which was very overwhelming, i got the spend the day with the retailer modelling. After getting a taste for modelling I realized it wasn’t something I wanted to pursue. I much preferred the part of the day behind the camera where I got to style the outfits. I had studied fashion at both college and university and at the time working in retail doing bits of visual merchandising and styling. I had Instagram but I didn’t follow any fashion based plus size bloggers. At the time I only knew about Curve Models and the amazing body positive influencers.
I became inspired by the curve movement and it was whilst I was on a plus size fashion brands instagram page that had re-posted a fashion blogger that I became inspired and decided to set up a purely curve style Instagram page. I began posting my daily outfits just in my mirror which became an escape for me. I was going through a rough patch in my life and having this as my hobby was a great distraction and pick me up.
I am so happy and grateful that Instagram is now party of my job and I get the opportunity to do what I’m truly most passionate about all whilst making some lovely connections with mu followers and bloggers along the way.
What is your favorite part of being a Instagram Influencer?
Without a doubt when I get messages off girls sending me pictures of them wearing an outfit I have posted on my Instagram. Or receiving more personal messages off girls who I have helped overcome their own body confidence battles by seeing my pictures.
What is your proudest achievement whilst working as a Instagram Influencer?
As I feel i’m only just getting started this might be a ‘to be contiunred’ question but I definietly have a lot of ideas floating around… I would say the absolute dream is to one day have my own curve brand or a collection with a brand that I love… now that would be my biggest achievement.
Your usual work day in 3 words…
❤️ Social Media
Who inspires your style?
Victoria Beckham, Olivia Palermo, Sienna Miller and i’m always excited for Sofia Vergara’s red carpet looks… Nobody can wear a Marchesa gown like she can! ❤️❤️
What is your statement look?
I’d describe my style as casual/glam. I’d definitely say a statement Beth look is a strong sharp blazer with a graphic t-short or lace cami underneath, a pair of black skinny jeans and a pair of black heeled boots.
What empowers you?
Girls who are totally and completely in love with their bodies and ooze confidence.
What advice would you give anyone wanting to be a Instagram influencer?
Maybe do as I did and start off just posting as a hobby and if you’re incredibly passionate about fashion it will show.
